Man Charged In Blanchard Shooting Out On Bond

An alleged accomplice in a Blanchard home invasion on New Year's Eve was under house Thursday night. Dustin Stewart walked out of the Grady County jail on a $50,000 bond.

Stewart was charged with murder, although he did not pull the trigger killing Justin Martin. The woman who did, Sarah McKinley, says she's afraid now that Stewart is out of jail.

"Right now, it's a lot of fear still wondering if someone will retaliate. Wondering who is out there or what is out there."

McKinley said she's upset two men forced her to take another person's life and hoped the judge would deny bond for the alleged accomplice.

Prosecutors say Stewart and Martin devised a plan to burglarize the McKinley's home. When Martin stepped in the house, McKinley shot and killed Martin.

Outside the courtroom, Stewart was asked if he thought he deserved the murder charge. Neither Stewart nor his attorney responded.

The judge also set conditions for Stewart's release. He must stay under house arrest at his parents' farm in Blanchard, wear a GPS monitoring device, and stay 2,000 feet away from McKinley.

McKinley said she still feels uneasy.

"I carry a gun on me 24/7 and I'm ready. I mean, I'm watching and I'm waiting."

Stewart's attorney says he is not ready to comment on the case but noted there is a lot more that will come out in this case.

Still, prosecutors say both men were after pain pills in the home.

This afternoon, investigators executed a search warrant on the vehicle used during the commission of the crime. They found marijuana, six leather work gloves, and pain pills.

It remains unclear who the pain pills were prescribed to, but it's expected to come out at trial.

Stewart is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on May 23rd.
