NEWCASTLE, Oklahoma – A huge night from running back Josh Way gave the Wayne Bulldogs a huge night on the scoreboard on Friday.
The Bulldogs blew by Carnegie 52-6 at Newcastle High School to advance to the Class A Championship against Woodland.
Josh Way put up more than 260 yards and ran for four touchdowns, also returning a kick for another score in the blowout.
The Bulldogs, always a run-heavy team, hardly passed the ball at all but still threw three touchdowns.
Wayne plowed through the first half and led 38-6 at the break.
Carnegie lost its first three games of the season but rode a 10-game winning streak into the semifinal matchup on Friday.
Wayne (13-1) advances to face defending state champion Woodland, who won 32-7 over Thomas in the other semifinal.
