The superintendent of Deer Creek Public Schools canceled all classes Tuesday due to flooding.
Superintendent Sean McDaniel said schools were not flooded or damaged, but surrounding streets were filled with water. He was worried about the safety of students and staff trying to get to school.
"We have several roads that are impassable. We've had crews out this morning, and I've been driving around a little bit," said McDaniel. "You get to a point in a road heading north, south, and east and west that you just can't pass, and so we had to make the decision early to get word out that we weren't going to have school today. We just don't want to put people in harm's way."
McDaniel said if the water recedes, classes will likely resume Wednesday.
