YUKON, Oklahoma -- Our road trip around Oklahoma continues, we headed to Yukon on Friday and had a lot of fun.
Darren Brown also headed to Yukon where they're already getting in the holiday spirit.
It's not unusual to see Yukon city crews working in the park. But these guys are putting up Christmas displays. You heard me right...Christmas displays. And I shot this video last week.
"Crews start working on this really pretty much after our July 4 festival is over," Terri Peak said.
That means when the rest of us are still using up our leftover bottle rockets, these guys are already thinking about decking the halls, or the parks.
"And then especially in September is when it really gets underway," Peak said.
Christmas in the Park started 16 years ago, with just a few displays in one of Yukon's parks. It's grown to over 350 displays in three parks, and starts in just a few weeks.
"it takes more than few lights to bring Christmas in the park to life her in Yukon, try about oh, four million or so. And speaking of coming to life, wouldn't this stuff look better at night?" Peak said.
"People like to be a part of something very magical at Christmas time. And this is a wonderful family event where people can come through and see beautiful Christmas lights, all kinds of shapes and sizes and colors. There's something for everyone," Peak said.
