BETHANY, Oklahoma -- A local pawn shop employee said a person of interest in the duffel-bag homicide sold a set of kitchen knives to the shop the same day he was reported missing.
The employee, who wishes to remain anonymous, tells News 9 Cody Perez, 21, sold the knives for $50 to the pawn shop around 1:30 p.m. on October 10.
The Bethany Police Department continue searching for Perez, a man wanted for questioning in the death of 19-year-old Carina Saunders.
Police say Perez was last seen at a convenience store near Interstate 35 and Robinson in Norman. He was wearing his Platt College culinary uniform and was carrying his knives. Police believe he left the metro area on Tuesday, October 11.
Saunders' body was found October 13 dismembered and stuffed into duffel bag behind the Homeland grocery store at N.W. 23rd Street and N. Rockwell Avenue.
