DUNCAN, Oklahoma -- The Stephens County Sheriff's Office is investigating a child abuse case it calls "appalling."
It involves the parents of two three-month-old infants in Duncan.
Jason Ausmus and his wife Misty both face charges in the case after bringing their twin babies to the hospital due to "breathing problems."
According to investigators, doctors found broken ribs and an adult hand print around the neck of one of the children.
Deputies said the father admitted to squeezing and hitting the child because he wouldn't stop crying. The mother is charged for not reporting the abuse.
The babies are now in DHS custody.
