EDMOND, Oklahoma – Edmond North and Putnam City both entered Friday undefeated, and both had coasted through their first five games. Their matchup seemed sure to be a back-and-forth affair, but it was anything but.
Edmond North controlled the game from start to finish and registered its second shutout of the season in a 35-0 blowout.
The Huskies scored on their first drive and never looked back. Jarion Tudman finished a 12-play, 80-yard drive with a touchdown run, his first of three on the night. The Huskies' defense followed with a fumble return for a touchdown by Ragan Land to make it 12-0, and the rout was on.
Putnam City's offense had largely relied on running back Casey Curtis in its first five games, but Edmond North was determined to take him away. The Huskies shut him down all night, and PCO did not get its first first down until midway through the second quarter.
Edmond North carried a 15-0 lead into halftime and only continued to pull away more in the second half. The Huskies scored 20 points in the third quarter and coasted through the fourth.
