OKLAHOMA CITY – In this week's Friday Night Roundup, Jessica Coody started off with a trip to Newcastle to see the Racers take on the Heritage Hall Chargers.
Newcastle started off with a strong defensive stop, but it only took one more possession for Heritage Hall to reach the endzone.
Sterling Shepard started the scoring off for the Chargers and the flood gates opened.
Shepard and Barry Sanders, Jr. both had their typical days as Heritage Hall rolled to a 57-0 win. The Chargers moved to 6-0 on the year and will travel to John Marshall next week.
Newcastle fell to 1-5 and will visit Tulsa NOAH.
The matchup between Tuttle and Blanchard wasn't quite as high scoring, but was definitely exciting.
Blanchard beat Tuttle 9-6 in what was certainly a defensive battle. The two teams went nearly the entire first half without scoring.
Tuttle broke the drought with less than two minutes remaining in the first half as Cooper Koons connected with Caleb Bills on a short touchdown pass to go up 6-0.
Blanchard didn't even get on the board until the fourth quarter, when a score and missed extra point tied the game up.
A field goal with just seconds remaining finally sealed the deal for the Lions.
Blanchard (4-2) will travel to Weatherford next week while Tuttle (5-1) will look to rebound from its first loss of the season when it hosts Weatherford.
