EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Here is some thing fun, but not frightening for your children to do during Halloween season.
Arcadia Lake's Storybook Forest event will kick off on October 23 to give children an opportunity to meet the cartoon characters from their favorite storybooks.
The Storybook Forest is located in Arcadia Lake's Spring Creek Park, which is about two and half miles east of Interstate 35 and 15th Street in Edmond. The event will kick off on Sunday, October 23, and will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. through Halloween.
According to event organizers, the Storybook Forest is geared for children 10 and under. It includes a tree-lined trail for children to walk where they collect treats and visit scenes from classic stories and rhymes including, Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater, the Three Little Pigs and the Little Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe. Characters such as Curious George and Clifford the Big Red Dog will be on the trail to greet children.
Organizers say a couple of the new scenes this year will be Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Rapunzel.
Children can wear their costumes or dress in warm, casual clothing to attend this event. Admission is $5 per child Monday through Thursday, and $7 per child Friday through Sunday.
For more information about Storybook Forest or other events at Arcadia Lake, contact the park office at (405)-216-7471.
