OKLAHOMA CITY -- The road to financial freedom can be bumpy, but an upcoming conference can help women find a smoother path. It's called "Do It Herself: A Journey to Financial Freedom." The Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants is hosting the event.
Educational sessions are designed by women and they target women. They'll cover basic budgeting, getting out of debt, saving for college, raising money-smart kids, building wealth, understanding health insurance bills, overcoming financial loss during a disaster and other topics. The event will allow women to talk with other women and learn about issues that impact their lives.
The event deals with women's issues because there are some startling statistics involving Oklahoma women. The Women's Foundation of Oklahoma points some of these out.
It's $15 to attend, if you register in advance. If you walk in without registering, the cost is $20. The conference includes lunch.
The conference will take place September 30th at the Magnuson Hotel Meridian Convention Center, in Oklahoma City.
