SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – Road Trip Oklahoma stopped by the Children's Barnyard at Pottawatomie County's Free Fair in Shawnee Friday morning. The residents here say visiting the fair is a tradition, and this was definitely on our list of things to do as we arrived.
Christina and Lauren from News 9 at Four had the chance to pet different animals at the petting zoo, including ferrets, lizards and even snakes!
However, they were able to do more than just petting the animals. Christina and Lauren, as well as the children from Shawnee, had the chance to learn to milk a goat at the fair.
Besides taking a first look at the animals, Christina and Lauren also learned about the apple peeling contest, which is a traditional event at the fair.
