OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City RedHawks continued to play out the remainder of their regular season schedule and rattled off their third consecutive win with a 2-1 win over the Iowa Cubs Saturday.
Lucas Harrell (5-2) was dominant from the mound for Oklahoma City (63-72), giving up just one unearned run on three hits, while striking out seven batters in his eight innings pitched. Carlton Smith (0-2) pitched just two innings to close the game with a 1-1 tie, but came away with a loss, surrendering one hit and one earned run.
The earned run came from the first batter he faced, Drew Locke, who went yard over the left field wall to give Oklahoma City a 2-1 advantage.
Jeff Fulchino came in for Harrell to close the game and gave up a leadoff single, but then settled in and retired the next three batters – including back-to-back strikeouts – to secure the win for the RedHawks.
Oklahoma City will close out the four-game series with Iowa at 4:05 p.m. Sunday, before heading on its final road game of the season.
