OKALHOMA CITY -- The RedHawks offense never got going Saturday night and fell to Colorado Springs 3-0, thanks to a strong performance from the Sky Sox pitching staff.
Colorado (55-56) starter Joey Williamson (1-1) earned a win for the outing, giving up just three hits and striking out seven in his five innings of service.
Andy Van Hekken (7-5) was credited with a loss for the outing, giving up six hits and one earned run in his 5.2 innings of service for the RedHawks (54-67).
The Sky Sox scored their first run in the top of the sixth inning, thanks to a Joe Mather sacrifice fly to bring Mike Paulk home from third to take a 1-0 advantage. A sacrifice fly to right field from Jesus Merchan scored Warren Schaeffer and extended Colorado Springs' lead to two runs.
The Sky Sox added an insurance run in the top of the ninth to close out the game.
Oklahoma City will attempt to avoid a two-game losing streak to the Sky Sox at 4:05 p.m. Sunday.
