OKLAHOMA CITY -- Friends trying to free former pharmacist and convicted murderer Jerome Ersland delivered more petition signatures Thursday to Gov. Mary Fallin's office.
A judge sentenced Ersland in July to life in prison for the shooting death of 16-year-old Antwun Parker. Parker and an accomplice tried to rob Reliable Pharmacy in May 2009.

Ersland was moved to a medium-security prison in Lexington, Okla., on Aug. 4. Karen Monahan -- one of Ersland's friends -- has been gathering signatures on petitions for months, urging the governor to overturn the conviction.

Gov. Fallin's office has said the case must first go through the Pardon and Parole Board.
