OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City police have arrested a man suspected of knocking on doors and stabbing strangers in southeast Oklahoma City.
Police arrested 24-year-old Danny Gene Byars Tuesday morning. Shortly after midnight, detectives received a tip implicating Byars in the attacks. Police showed a photo lineup to one of the stabbing victims, and he positively identified Byars as the person who attacked him.
Police arrested Byars a few hours later at his home in the 300 block of S.E. 48th Street. He was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Police say Byars would knock on doors between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m., and attack people when they answered the door. The victims told police they did not know the man who attacked them.
