Son Focuses on Lives of Pair Killed In OKC Fire

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Terry Haynes refuses to focus on15-year-old Tristan Owen, who is accused of intentionally setting the fire that caused his parents' death.

Instead, Haynes is focusing on the lives of his parents, Boyd and Doris Haynes. They lived in their Miller Avenue home for 45 years and were supposed to be moving to a nursing home the day they died.

Authorities are investigating the cause, but believe a Molotov cocktail may have ignited the fire.

"They didn't deserve that. They lived too good of a life to have it ended that way. I want to celebrate their life," their son Terry Haynes said.

After flames consumed the home and claimed his parents' lives, he spent the day at their home salvaging what memories he could.

Pictures and the chairs his father made now serve a painful reminder of what he lost. "They loved their family and loved their neighbors. They were good friends. They were my good friends," Haynes said.

Funeral arrangements haven't been set. The Haynes' owned B& B Hearing Aid Services and lost their youngest son to cancer.

The family asks donations to be made to hearing loss or cancer research in lieu of flowers.
