OKLAHOMA CITY – The NFL has been in a lockout for more than three months, and the NBA now is on the verge of joining it.
The NBA's current collective bargaining agreement will run out at 10:59 p.m. Thursday. The owners and players are scheduled to meet sometime earlier in the day, but reports have said the sides are not close to a new agreement.
It is possible that commissioner David Stern could extend the deadline for an agreement to be reached, but in all likelihood that would only delay the inevitable.
