Canute Teen Drowns At Foss Lake In Custer County

FOSS, Oklahoma -- A teenager drowns at Foss Lake in Custer County. It happened at Sandy Beach on Monday.

According to the Oklahoma State Highway Patrol, 17-year-old Dillian Matthew Keith of Canute drowned while swimming with three other family members. The four were trying to swim approximately 300 yards from the Sandy Beach area to the Sandy Beach Island.

During the swim, the three family members decided to turn around and go back to Sandy Beach, while Keith continued on to the island. At one point, a family member turned around and noticed Keith was gone.

Keith's body was found 150 yards from the Sandy Beach shoreline in approximately 7.5 feet of water.
