The Thunder win their season opener 106-95 Wednesday night over Chicago thanks to a stellar 4th-quarter. Thats a good sign. Lets hope thats a trend. Do what you want in the first 3/4ths of the game...the 4th-quarter is winning time. Just ask OU how important it is.
The other thing that jumped out at me from opening night...keep an eye this season on the Thunders three-point percentage. Just 4-of-18 against the Bulls for 22%. OKC ranked near the bottom of the league a year ago from behind the arc. New addition Dequan Cook was 0-for-4 Wednesday night...and the Thunder still won by 11.
If OKC can be in the upper half of the NBA in three-point percentage they become almost impossible to defend. Defenses have to double Durant and have to help on Westbrook when he drives. Shots are going to be there for Green, Cook, Maynor, Harden, Durant and Westbrook. Their goal should be between 35-40% as a team.
