So just how good is the 2010 version of the Sooners?....uh....I have no idea.
Were now three games in and my opinion has changed 14 times. Just about the time I think theyre really good...theyre not.
I would like to get concerned about the closer-than-expected win over Air Force on Owen Field, but then I remember the massive beatdown of Florida State. It can be confusing.
But I think the constant is this. The Sooners seem to directly reflect the play of their quarterback. When Landry struggles...OU struggles. When Landry soars...OU rolls. Their fortune seems to be directly tied to the fortune of #12.
Am I concerned that the Sooners defense gave up so many rushing yards to the Falcons? Not really. I think the "D" is good. And if the OU offense had played better, especially in the first half, the defense wouldnt have been on the field long enough to give up that many yards.
This season appears to be going as Landry goes.
P.S. - I have experienced a ton of cool moments on Owen Field through the years, but Ive never gotten chills bigger than I got Saturday when Air Force ran onto the field to a standing ovation from Sooner fans. Really cool!
