A good win for the Sooners Wednesday night (67-47 over Arkansas). The Hogs aren't great, but a 20-point win over anybody right now has to feel good for a team struggling to find its way early. My advice for the young guns...Run, Run Run! And don't be afraid to launch threes.
The way the Sooners played in the final three minutes of the first half and the beginning of the second half Wednesday night is a good road map to success. OU is as athletic, or more so, than any team they'll play this season. They are packed with talented guards who can get out and go. So...GET OUT AND GO!!! And don't be afraid to score points three-at-a-time.
Blake Griffin isn't walking through those doors. And Tiny Gallon isn't yet ready to be a low-post, back-to-the-basket threat. Play to your strength, which is a stable of guys who can shoot the rock...Willie Warren, Tony Crocker, Steven Pledger, Cade Davis, Tommy Mason-Griffin. Combined OU is shooting 37% from three-point range this season. That's not bad. Shoot more. Become the Phoenix Suns of college basketball. Get out and go!
