I have to admit, I was a little gun shy about my 2 cents last week on how the AP was duped by a fake press release.
Because earlier in the day we'd run a story that was so ridiculous my gut told me it might be a hoax. But so far the story is checking out... and it makes an absolute mockery of political correctness.
A high schooler was volunteering in a Seattle third grade classroom, and wanted to give the kids a treat.. plastic Easter Eggs filled with candy.
She asked the teacher for permission, who paused and then checked it out with administrators.
Turns out they were ok with the treats, just not calling them Easter Eggs.
There solution was to instead call the Easter Eggs "Spring Spheres". Spring Spheres? That's festive isn't it?
It's so absurd I thought it must be an internet hoax, but it apparently isn't.
The silly Holiday trees, Harvest Festivals, Winter Parades, they seem logical compared to the Spring Spheres they'll be hiding in the Emerald City.
