Road Rivalry Ends For Yukon High School

Students attending the new high school in Yukon don't have to worry about their school being on a road named for their biggest rival.

YUKON, Oklahoma -- Students attending the new high school in Yukon don't have to worry about their school being on a road named for their biggest rival.

The Oklahoma City council approved annexing a three and a half mile stretch of Mustang Road that the school sits on. The Yukon Millers were concerned their school would be located on a road named for their rivals the Mustang Broncos.

The city of Yukon plans on renaming the road Yukon Parkway. The new school will open by fall 2011.
