Driver Crashes Into OKC Gas Pump, Starts Fire

OKLAHOMA CITY - A driver slammed into a gas pump Tuesday morning at a 7-Eleven store in northwest Oklahoma City.

Police said Ashlee Aubrey, 24, hit the curb at May Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard, crashed into the gas pump and rolled her car. The pump was on fire for about 10 minutes until the automatic shut-off valve extinguished the flames.

Aubrey escaped with just scrapes and bruises.

EMSA paramedics said Aubrey was belligerent when they arrived and police were forced to handcuff her to the stretcher.

Aubrey was taken to the hospital to be checked out. Officers said she may have been intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Aubrey was arrested after being released from the hospital and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.
