Grassfires Sparked Along Lake Hefner Parkway

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City firefighters battled a few grassfires along Lake Hefner Parkway Saturday afternoon.

Two fires started along the parkway. One was at N.W. 122nd Street and the other was at Memorial Road.

The winds caused the grassfires to spread quickly, but fire crews were able to get both fires under control within 20 minutes.

It is unclear what started the fires.

A grass fire spread along Lake Hefner Parkway and N.W. 122nd Thursday afternoon. Flames came within several inches of homes but no structures caught on fire.
