OKLAHOMA CITY -- Feed the Children donated a semi tractor-trailer full of backpacks to children in need in the Oklahoma City Public School district.
Inside the backpacks were school supplies, food and items many take for granted like toothbrushes and toothpaste. The nearly 2,000 packs will be given out to kids who are dealing with homelessness.
"It's very difficult. They're already behind the eight ball. They don't have their own room. They don't have a place to study, and to ask them to walk into the classroom without the tools they need to succeed is a very frustrating situation," said Tony Sellars with Feed the Children.
Feed the Children said during the current school year, they will deliver 150,000 similar backpacks.
