OKLAHOMA CITY -- Republican candidate Ken Miller has been elected State Treasurer.
Miller defeated Stephen Covert blank to blank.
Miller was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2004. He served as the vice-chair of the House Appropriations and Budget Committee and one year later was appointed chairman. He recently completed his third session as the House's budget leader.
"My top priority as state treasurer will be to maximize taxpayer dollars," Miller said. "I also will work to ensure that state dollars are being used efficiently, continuing the work I began in the Legislature to reform government spending practices by improving transparency and accountability."
He will take over the office from current State Treasurer Scott Meacham.
