OKLAHOMA CITY -- Officials have renamed the arena once known as the Ford Center. It's now called the Oklahoma City Arena.
The Oklahoma City Thunder announced in August its naming rights agreement had ended with Oklahoma Ford Dealers. The team has been negotiating with potential new partners. Until a deal is reached, the sports venue will go by the name Oklahoma City Arena.
Officials said the name change won't affect visitors' experiences.
"No matter the name of the arena, SMG is pleased to present world-class concerts and events in Oklahoma City," said Gary Desjardins, Regional General Manager of the SMG-managed Oklahoma City Arena. "We like to express our sincerest gratitude to the Oklahoma Ford Dealers for their years as partners to the arena."
