OKLAHOMA CITY -- Hundreds of people have found more than $130,000 in unclaimed property at the Oklahoma State Fair.
State Treasurer Scott Meacham worked the Pot of Gold booth at the fair Wednesday, helping visitors reclaim lost money. He announced 253 attendees have found unclaimed property.
Since the fair started, the largest single find was made by a man whose grandfather lived in Clinton. He discovered he was entitled to more than $16,000 in gas and royalty payments.
"I encourage everyone attending the fair to come by our booth," Meacham said. "There isn't much you can do for free at the fair, much less walk away with money. Our unclaimed property booth is that rare exception."
