OKLAHOMA CITY -- A female was killed and two other people were injured in crash involving a vehicle and motorcycle on Portland Avenue and 3rd Street just north of Reno Avenue Friday night.
Oklahoma City Police Lt. Don Holland said a vehicle was turning left into a post office when a motorcycle failed to stop and slammed into the back of the vehicle. Two people were on the motorcycle at the time of the crash. The female on the motorcycle was killed and a male was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Neither were wearing helmets.
Police said the female who was killed in the crash may have been a passenger on the motorcycle.
The driver of the vehicle was also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police are investigating to learn if alcohol was involved.
"They'll be given tests at the hospital to determine that, with everyone involved, if alcohol was a factor," said Lt. Don Holland with the Oklahoma City Police Department.
"But as of right now it is just too early in the investigation to tell for sure."
Police blocked both northbound and southbound traffic on Portland while they investigated the scene Friday night.
The female's identity has not been released.
