JONES, Oklahoma -- Students are back in Jones High School, three years after the old building went up in flames.
The new school year began Monday, and students got their first look at the new building. It has updated teaching technology including a new audio system, document cameras that replaced overhead projection machines and clickers that help teachers pace their lessons to see how quickly students correctly answer questions.
"There's no excuse now for anything we're doing. We have every resource we could possibly want in the classroom," said Jones High School Principal, Dr. Carl Jones.
The high school was destroyed after power lines crashed down on the building and started a fire during the 2007 ice storm. For the last few years, students and teachers held classes in churches and portable buildings.
