OKLAHOMA CITY -- Two former state representatives who have died since 2008 are being honored with the designation of a bridge and a road with their names.

A bridge crossing the Canadian River on State Highway 4 between Mustang and Tuttle will be designated as the "State Rep. Tim Pope Memorial Bridge." Pope, a Republican from Mustang, died on Feb. 14.

Also, the section of Interstate 35 from NE 23rd Street to Interstate 40 in Oklahoma City will be designated as the "State Rep. Opio Toure Memorial Highway." Toure, a Democrat, served in the Oklahoma House from 1994 until 2006 and died in February 2008.

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission voted Monday to have the state Transportation Department place markers at the two sites.
