OKLAHOMA CITY -- A seafood restaurant in northeast Oklahoma City is now getting its oysters from Texas instead of Louisiana due to the oil spill now hitting the shores of parts of the Gulf Coast.
"(The oysters) are all coming from Texas now," said Brent Hickman, owner of The Shack Seafood & Oyster Bar. "The spill is going from east of the Mississippi down to Florida. Since the oysters are shut down from Louisiana, we're just getting them from Texas."
The Shack Seafood & Oyster Bar opened about three weeks ago, just days before the oil spill happened. Hickman says it's too early to know how this spill or the purchase of oysters from Texas will affect prices at the restaurant.
