OKLAHOMA CITY -- A 77-year-old woman was killed this morning in a house fire near Nichols Hills.
Firefighters were called to the home in the 2100 block of Northwest 62nd Street at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The house was full of boxes making it difficult for firefighters to fight the blaze and get to the woman, firefighter said.
"The woman was considered to be somewhat of a recluse according to neighbors. We had a tough time getting through the doors. She had a lot of personal belongings stacked in front of each one of the doors," said Oklahoma City Battalion Chief Mike Walker.
The woman was found dead inside the home once firefighters were able to enter. One firefighter suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The woman's name has not been released.
