3 Children Burned Lighting Backyard Campfire

DEL CITY, Oklahoma – Del City police are investigating how a backyard campfire left three children badly burned.

According to the police report, three kids, a 12-year-old boy, 11-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl, tried to light a campfire in their backyard.

The kids used a flammable liquid, possible paint thinner, as an accelerant. The vapors from the liquid caused a flash fire, injuring the children.

The three kids were sent to OU Children's Hospital. One of the children is in critical condition with second and third degree burns.
