DUNCAN, Oklahoma -- Postal inspectors in Stephens County are investigating one of their own.
A spokesman for the Office of Inspector General of the United States Postal Service said a mail carrier in Duncan will likely face federal charges for crimes committed on the job.
"Right now the case is in the process of being presented to federal prosecutors," said OIG spokesman Kenny Smith. "Once it's turned over to the prosecutors, it's out of our hands."
Smith declined to go into details surrounding the investigation but did confirm the 32-year-old suspect resigned from the Postal Service on October 28th.
Sources close to the investigation said the carrier was taking prescription pills from customers on his route.
The Undersheriff at the Stephens County Sheriff's Office confirmed his agency has taken complaints recently from citizens who said they're mail-ordered prescriptions were not being delivered.
