EDMOND, Oklahoma -- The U.S. Marines kicked off their Toys for Tots campaign Friday in Edmond with a big donation.
The Duit family donated more than $5,000 worth of toys – enough to fill a seven-ton truck.
Just before Christmas, the Marines will pass out the toys collected to needy families. They say the more toys, the better.
“The Marines are just as big as the kids are about toys,” said Staff Sgt. Gabriel Harderson. “You know we love it; it is a great effort. The more contributions we have, the better off we are.”
