NORMAN, Oklahoma – A police standoff ended in a man shooting himself this morning in a parking lot in Norman.
Police Capt. Kevin Foster says the standoff began about 2:30 a.m. when an officer went to check out a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot near Interstate 35 and Robinson Street. Foster says the man pulled out a pistol and put it to his head.
Police blocked off the streets around the parking lot. The man shot himself shortly after 7 a.m. and was transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
