Sooners' Bob Stoops Announces Landry Jones as Starter

NORMAN, Oklahoma – Sooners' head coach Bob Stoops announced Thursday Landry Jones will be starting quarterback Saturday as No. 8 University of Oklahoma faces No. 16 University of Miami.

Jones stepped into the position after Heisman-winner Sam Bradford suffered a joint sprain to his shoulder in the team's season-opener against Brigham Young University.

A source told OKBlitz.com's Oklahoma City Sports Director Dean Blevins that Sam Bradford likely will not suit up for the Miami game.

Bradford has been recovering from the injury and has participated in the team's practices this week.
