EDMOND, Oklahoma -- The Del City Eagles football team may have won Friday night's game against Edmond Memorial, but they lost much more in the locker room.
According to University of Central Oklahoma police, several football players and at least one referee had personal items stolen from the locker rooms in the Hamilton Fieldhouse at Wantland Stadium.
Edmond Memorial's home games are played at UCO's football stadium.
Several iPods, cell phones and other valuable items were taken sometime after the game's halftime. UCO police have recovered several of the stolen items, according to the Eagles' head varsity football coach.
"Right now, we are victims and it's very unfortunate this had to happen while our students were playing football", said a Del City school spokeswoman.
According to the UCO police report, the stadium and locker rooms are leased from UCO by Edmond Public Schools for football games.
The report goes on to say UCO police were in the building at random times during Friday's game, but officers did not observe any unauthorized persons.
