OKLAHOMA CITY -- Nearly 4,000 Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. customers remain without power after strong thunderstorms hit central Oklahoma.
OG&E reported on its Web site that 5,814 customers were still in the dark Friday morning after the Thursday afternoon storm. More than 29,500 customers were without power at the height of the storm.

Outages were also reported in Bokchito, Ardmore and Blue.
Many structures were damaged in the storm including the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office sub-station in Midwest City, Midwest City High School, the Bricktown Hotel and Convention Center and a few homes throughout the metro.
Wind gusts reached 70 to 75 mph throughout the state.

The storms were the result of a cold front that entered the state on Wednesday and is pushing southward. The storms were accompanied by heavy rain, hail, strong winds and frequent lightning.
