It is illegal to sell, possess or discharge fireworks within the majority of cities around the state.
Oklahoma City, Edmond, Norman, Moore, Yukon, Del City and Midwest City all have residential fireworks bans in place for the holiday. It is even illegal to posses fireworks in Oklahoma City.
Some area cities do allow fireworks, but with restrictions.
Choctaw allows fireworks July 1st through July 3rd between the hours of 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. On July 4th the time is extended to 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
The city of Guthrie is allowing it's residents to light off their personal fireworks on personal property of 5 acres or more with the purchase a $15 dollar permit.
Okarche allows fireworks between the hours of 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. on July 3rd, 4th and 5th.
It is legal to launch fireworks in Mustang beginning June 27 to July 3rd from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. The time extended on July 4th to 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
