OKLAHOMA CITY -- Free RedHawks tickets are being offered to participating blood donors this Fourth of July weekend.
An All-American Blood Drive, hosted by the Oklahoma Blood Institute and the Oklahoma City Redhawks, will take place Thursday, July 2 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.
Along with free T-shirts and free hotdogs, donors will receive two free tickets to the RedHawks game on July 4 against the Omaha Royals, followed by a fireworks show.
"Holiday weekends put incredible stress on the blood supply for patients in our state," said John Armitage, M.D., Oklahoma Blood Institute president and chief executive. "We truly need those who can give to come to the ballpark and help Oklahomans who will need blood through the July 4th holiday when our donations tend to decline."
Donations take about an hour and can be made every 56 days.
Participating donors will receive free parking provided east of the ballpark on Reno and South Joe Carter Drive.
To schedule an appointment to donate blood at any OBI site, call 1-877-340-8777, or visit http://www.obi.org/ to see a list of blood drives and donor centers in your area.
