TULSA, Oklahoma -- A University of Tulsa tennis player's career has ended after he suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car.
Police say Ross Cunningham was riding a scooter Monday near the TU campus when a car pulled into a convenience store and crashed into him. Cunningham fractured his right leg, dislocated his hip and has a face fracture and other injuries.
According to the TU athletic Web site, the accident ends Cunningham's collegiate career.
The senior from Edmond North had a singles record of 8-6 and a doubles record of 9-12 in the 2008-09 season. He earned ITA doubles All-America accolades and All-Conference USA doubles honors as a junior.
