In a new report, Oklahoma ranks fourth in the country for women killed by men.
The statistics are based on the number of murders involving a single victim and single offender in 2006. That year, 38 women were killed by men in Oklahoma. Just about all of the women knew the person who killed them. More than 60 percent were killed by current or ex-husbands or boyfriends.
Oklahomans listen up -- the statistics speak for themselves. The number of women killed in domestic violence disputes is too many.
If you need help -- call the National Domestic Abuse Hotline, the number is 1-800-799-SAFE (7233).
