DUNCAN, Okla. -- A missing Duncan attorney was found dead this morning, authorities said.
Charles Barnes was found dead in a wooded area near Washita Point, said Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswomen Jessica Brown.
The 57-year-old attorney was charged Sept. 8 with embezzling $148,000 from the trust fund of a client's dead aunt. He posted bail the next day. He has been missing since Sept. 19, officials said.
Since his arrest, Stephens County District Attorney Bret Burns says other alleged victims have contacted his office with claims they too have been swindled by Barnes.
