Slumlords... beware!

You may wonder why anyone would rent a home or apartment that looks like some of the pictures in tonight's story.  But there are 3 types of people that I've found that will take a place like that. 

1) Those who really can't afford much.  When a place is available for a fraction of what they'd have to spend elsewhere, they look at it as being worth it. 
2)Then there are those who know about the problems, but are told if they move in the problems will later be fixed. 
3) And then there are the problems people don't see.  There may be dangerous electrical wires and they have no idea.

Every single one of those people deserve to live in a safe environment.  I think the Del City needs to be applauded for taking a proactive approach at the inspections.  I think it's going to take a lot of work and make some landlords upset, but the long term benefit will make Del City a nicer place to live.
