Heat beats the Northeast

Excessive heat is expected to bake parts of the Mid Atlantic and Northeast. Heat advisories are in effect from Raleigh, North Carolina to the Nation's Capital. Temperatures here are expected to climb into the upper 90s to near 100 degrees this afternoon, with feel like temperatures well into the lower 100s. High pressure situated over the Southeast is to blame for the scorching temperatures.
