Boy nearly drowns in pool, police said

Another child came close to losing his life in an apartment swimming pool last night, police said.

Authorities said a 5-year-old boy was with his mom and several other children when he somehow ended up at the bottom the Windsor Village Apartments pool at North Sterling Ave. 

"You just gotta watch kids closely. Any of these pools are going to have big signs up saying no lifeguards on duty. So its ultimately going to rest on the parents and even if your kid are experienced swimmers," Lt. Isaac Goodman with the Oklahoma City Police . "You've really got to watch them closely."

A police officer said medics managed to get a pulse on boy who was underwater for at least five minutes before he was found.
