LAWTON, Okla. -- Lawton police arrested 12 people, including a nurse, as part of a drug bust.
Lt. Todd Palmer said the arrests on Wednesday morning came after a three-month investigation that included Oklahoma Board of Nursing agents and the state Board of Pharmacy.
"It's one of the largest operations we've had in the past 16 years," Palmer said.
Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics spokesman Mark Woodward said the nurse arrested is accused of supplying a party drug called promethazine with codeine.
The high-dose cough syrup can be mixed with soda or juice to get high.
Officers said they also seized a large amount of drug paraphernalia along with various firearms and other weapons.
